
The Barack Obama Campaign is hold a series of large voter registration drives to encourage young adults in battleground states to be heard in the democratic process. Today there is FREE Jay-Z concert in Detroit at Cobo Arena. Tomorrow, Sunday October 5, 2008, on the eve of the voter registration deadline. The Obama for America campaign announced today the Grammy Award-winning musician Wyclef Jean will Jay-Z Grammy Award-winning rapper Jay-Z to headline a FREE concert and voter registration drive at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheater.
The deadline to register to vote in Florida is Monday, October 6th. To vote in the November election, registration applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered to Supervisors of Elections Offices by that day.
Wyclef Jean has been a long-time advocate for aid to his native Haiti – an issue that hits home with the thousands of Haitian-Americans in Florida, particularly in recent months as the island nation has been ravaged by devastating storms.
